Logo supplied by Rob Shepherd. The original artwork is used on the homepage; the header and footer display the emblem beside a text wordmark.

Company logos

The Organic Robotics Corporation mark comes from its official company website. The MAV Unlimited wordmark comes from the MAV Unlimited website. Both are displayed in their original colors. LLume remains identified as Organic Robotics Corporation’s first product.

Lionfish-inspired aquatic soft robot

Photograph credited as “Provided” by the Cornell Chronicle. Robot designed by James Pikul, a former postdoctoral researcher in Rob Shepherd’s lab. Source: “Robot circulatory system powers possibilities,” Cornell Chronicle, June 19, 2019.

Mycelium-controlled biohybrid robot

The photograph of the soft walking robot is from “Biohybrid robots controlled by electrical impulses — in mushrooms,” Cornell Chronicle, August 28, 2024. The associated Science Robotics paper by Mishra et al. demonstrates fungal electrical control and responses to light. Agricultural soil-health sensing is described as a research goal.

Research framework and soil illustration

The framework follows Rob Shepherd’s field-to-water circularity concept, connecting crop phenotyping, undersoil metrology, and underwater surveying to the lab’s scientific foundations. The soil cross-section is a conceptual illustration, not a photograph or a depiction of a validated field deployment.

Group and presenter portraits

Portraits of Yuto Haba, Hayden Webb, Jeff Kagle, Chongchan Kim, Daniel Garcia, Douglas Palumbo, Batist Geldhof, Young Seong Kim, and Youngjune Park are from the existing Organic Robotics Lab website. The portrait for Terrence Pierce is from his profile, published under Terrence Pierce, on the University of Maryland Tubaldi Lab people page. Portraits are presented with their original subjects.

Research illustrations

The manufacturing, energy, and meeting graphics are original conceptual vector illustrations. For titled meetings, graphics are selected from the presentation title as conceptual illustrations, not research figures. Untitled meetings retain speculative research sketches. The original title text comes from the group schedule.

Alumni research figures

The twelve alumni figures are original vector concept illustrations of the research and teaching themes described in each profile. They are not reproduced publication figures or depictions of specific experimental results. Each figure links to that person’s research or teaching source.

Meeting schedule

Dates, presenters, presentation titles, room, and time update automatically from the lab’s group meeting schedule, Sheet1. A saved copy from September 19, 2026 is available if the live source cannot be reached. The source spreadsheet supplies the schedule; the website’s research illustrations are separate editorial concepts.
